You will join a unique, one-year trainee programme giving you the opportunity to work on internal audit activities with colleagues from different European countries at both the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, Germany, and either the national central bank of an EU country or the national supervisory authority of a Eurosystem country. You may also spend the full year exclusively at the ECB. You will work under the guidance of experienced auditors and follow a dedicated training programme focusing on technical audit and the related soft skills required to become an auditor.
The ECB and the national central banks of the euro area countries together make up the Eurosystem, which is the monetary authority of the euro area. The primary objective of the Eurosystem is to maintain price stability; it also aims to safeguard financial stability and promotes European financial integration. The ECB and the national central banks of all EU Member States form the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). European banking supervision, which comprises the ECB and the national supervisory authorities, contributes to the safety and soundness of the banking system and the stability of the financial system.
The traineeship offers:
extensive experience of working in international teams;
a deep insight into internal audit at the ECB and at one national central bank or national
supervisory authority;
practical experience of working with highly skilled professionals on audit missions;
a chance to use your language skills in a business environment;
a structured training programme on the role of an auditor and of the organisation(s) to which you are assigned.
