The European Commission is organising a Citizens’ Dialogue with young people on the future of Europe on 8 May in Sibiu, Romania. The day after, Sibiu will host a Summit of Heads of State and Government of the EU countries. The event will bring together around 300 young Europeans from all over Europe. Participants will take part in several thematic workshops on the future of work, skills and qualifications, digital Europe, climate change, fair and inclusive societies as well as democratic participation and better involvement of youth in policy making. At the end of the day, all participants will converge to discuss their ideas during a Citizens’ Dialogue with the political leaders of the European Commission.
What you need to know
The event will take place on 8 May from 9.30 until 18.30, in the Centre Ion Besoiu in Sibiu. Participants are expected to arrive in Sibiu on 7 May and leave on 9 May. Participants will be hosted in Alba Iulia (53 km from Sibiu).
The European Commission will cover travel and accommodation costs. It will organise travel from your place of residence to Sibiu (return trip) and offer you accommodation. It will also provide meals and ensure transportation between Alba Iulia and Sibiu and between Alba Iulia and airports in Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca. Please do not make any reservations for accommodation or travel!
The event will be held in English, French, German and Romanian. The Commission will provide interpretation to other EU languages if necessary as well as international sign language interpretation upon prior notification.
