Assistant, Press and Public Diplomacy Section
Job Description
The assistant is responsible to the Head of the Press and Public Diplomacy (PPD) section for the following:
• General administrative support to officers in the section;
• Prepare and finalise notes, compose routine correspondence;
• Carry out various administrative tasks such as diary-keeping, filtering telephone calls, filing, updating of databases;
• Logistical support for organisation of events;
• Manage mission orders & expenses;
• Team of 18 people; occasionally atypical working hours;
• Any other assistant duties or ad-hoc tasks relating to the activities of the section and Delegation.
Job Requirements
• Minimum Secondary school education or equivalent;
• Strong administrative experience and demonstrated skills;
• Good organisational skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team;
• Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook);
• Fluency in English, knowledge of second language an advantage.
Package includes a salary range which is dependent on experience, typically starting at $41K (5 year’s experience), $51K(10 years) and with competitive vacation, insurance and other social benefits.
