Children growing up in poverty face significant adversity early in life, putting them at greater risk of developing learning difficulties. Early screening and intervention strategies need to be developed that are cost effective and easy to deliver within the community.
To achieve this goal, a group of researchers in Poland launched the project SRCD-IP (Self-regulation and cognitive development of infants facing poverty). Funded by the EU, the initiative brings together research in cognitive neuroscience and the study of infant-parent interaction.
