The Directorate General Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability (DG/MF) of the European Central Bank (ECB) is seeking applications from recent PhD graduates (or PhD students who are close to completing their studies) for traineeships.
DG/MF provides analyses and policy advice on issues relating to macroprudential policies, financial stability, financial regulation and supervision, and financial stability arrangements. In the area of financial stability, DG/MF, in cooperation with other business areas in a matrix format, analyses developments in the banking sector and the broader financial system in the euro area and the EU from a systemic risk perspective. In the areas of financial regulation, financial supervision and financial stability arrangements, DG/MF monitors developments and analyses relevant policy issues from a financial stability and financial integration perspective. In relation to macroprudential policies, DG/MF is responsible for preparing ECB macroprudential policy decisions, liaising with the Single Supervisory Mechanism and the ECB’s decision-making bodies and with the relevant national and international authorities. To that end, DG/MF provides information and background studies that support and inform the corresponding policy processes. In addition, DG/MF supports the activities of the European Systemic Risk Board and contributes to policy discussions at the European and international levels.
