Larger and more densely populated urban areas are causing new challenges to mobility in terms of congestion as well as pollutant and noise emissions. An EU-funded project has unveiled an electric vehicle prototype that is lightweight and compact, promising to promote sustainable urban mobility.
Funded by the EU, the EPSILON (Small electric passenger vehicle with maximized safety and integrating a lightweight oriented novel body architecture) project successfully developed an innovative electric vehicle prototype specifically designed for urban environments. EPSILON’s new vehicle is considerably lighter, more energy efficient and requires less road space than today’s sub-compact cars, while offering the same level of safety.
